Gordon Shedden stays fastest in second British Touring Car practice session at Knockhill

Gordon Shedden again topped the British Touring Car field at Knockhill in the second free practice session on Saturday afternoon

Despite going off in his Honda early on, Shedden set a 58.111s lap between red flags for Andy Neate (Arena Ford) and James Nash (Triple Eight Vauxhall) to pip Arena's Tom Chilton by a tenth.

The encouraging pace of the NGTC machines continued. Frank Wrathall was third fastest in his Dynojet Toyota, despite a turbo issue early on, while Daniel Welch was sixth in his Proton.

Title contenders Mat Jackson (Motorbase Focus) and Matt Neal (Honda) were fourth and fifth.

Rob Collard's WSR BMW was the top normally aspirated runner in ninth, while reigning champion Jason Plato was again outside the top 10. His works Chevrolet was 11th, just over 1s slower than local favourite Shedden.
