Chilton wins again in race two
Tom Chilton doubled up to win the second British Touring Car Championship race of the day at Silverstone
Just as in the earlier encounter, Chilton sat behind his team-mate Tom Onslow-Cole for the opening half of the race. And just as in the earlier encounter, Onslow-Cole moved over to let his team-mate into the lead just beyond half distance in what appeared to be a clear, and bizarre, case of team orders being imposed.
While Chilton was able to collect his third win of the year, Onslow-Cole fell back into the clutches of Rob Collard's WSR BMW and lost second to him after a forceful move by the WSR man at Luffield on lap 17.
While Onslow-Cole temporarily re-took the position, second eventually went to Collard as he grabbed the spot on the final lap.
The real race was for fourth between Jason Plato's Chevrolet, the works Hondas of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden and Paul O'Neill's Tech-Speed Honda.
Plato's fourth spot allowed him to increase his championship lead to 29 points over Neal, who grabbed fifth by nudging O'Neill out of the way at Luffield on the final lap. O'Neill will start the reversed grid race from pole position.
Shedden, Steven Kane (Motorbase BMW) and Alex MacDowall (Chevrolet) were next up while Mat Jackson recovered from a first corner collision with Andy Neate (WSR) to complete the top 10.
There was terrible luck for Andrew Jordan, who ran third during the first half of the race, but sustained a right-front puncture that dropped him to the tail of the field.
