British Touring Car Championship attracts bumper, 32-car field

The British Touring Car Championship has revealed its largest yet full season entry, with 32 cars taking part in the 2016 contest

This season's championship was launched at Donington Park on Tuesday morning, with drivers scheduled to take part in a test session this afternoon.

New BTCC Subaru to miss Donington Park test

The final entry, Team BKR, added two cars to the field to bring the total number of entries committed to all 10 events up to 32.

Series director Alan Gow said: "This is a truly golden era for the BTCC and our developments in recent months further underline its strength and position as Britain's most successful motorsport series - and by a very big margin.

"I am also really pleased with the increasing amount of new talent that has been coming in to the British Touring Car Championship over the last few years.

"Make no mistake, many will go on to become future household names of the BTCC.

"These really are the 'good old days' that, one day in the future, we will look back on with great fondness and delight. We look forward to witnessing another classic year of the BTCC."
