Brands Hatch BTCC: Lea Wood excluded, loses S2000 class victory
British Touring Car Jack Sears Trophy frontrunner Lea Wood has lost his class victory from race three at Brands Hatch
Wood's Vauxhall Vectra was the fastest S2000 runner in qualifying, but suspension problems in race one cost him class victory to James Kaye's AmD VW Golf.
A driveshaft failure caused Wood not to start race two, but he then overcame David Nye's Welch-run Ford to win the class in the final race.
Now Wood has been excluded after failing the ride height test.
"We changed the dampers [after race one] and unfortunately something wasn't quite right," he told AUTOSPORT.
"We're gutted, but the pace was there."
Wood's exclusion means Motorbase Ford driver Liam Griffin take his second class victory of the weekend.
