British Touring Car champion Andrew Jordan has backed the decision to run the 2014 Oulton Park round on the International circuit.
The BTCC has raced on the shorter Island layout in recent years, but will switch to the Cheshire circuit's longest configuration for its visit on June 7-8.
Jordan, who won at Oulton on his way to the 2013 BTCC crown, has not raced on the International circuit but is a fan.
"I've tested on it and I'm chuffed to bits we'll be racing on it," Jordan told AUTOSPORT.
"The fast left at Island is mega, and the approach to Britten's chicane will be fast too."
Jordan also believes the circuit will suit his Eurotech- run Honda Civic, which has traditionally been strong through high-speed corners.
"I think the International circuit will suit our car," he added.
"And I personally like those sorts of corners too. "I'm excited about it."
