Race-winning British Touring Car Championship squad Motorbase is hoping to develop a satellite operation after doing a deal with AmD.
Motorbase, which became a constructor in 2012 by building its first NGTC Ford Focus, recently sold its first chassis to AmD.
Although it plans to expand its own attack to three cars for 2014, the team is hoping to build a longer relationship with AmD.
Motorbase boss David Bartrum told AUTOSPORT: "We want to go down the same path as [works Honda Civic squad] Team Dynamics have with Eurotech and have a satellite operation.
"I've known [AmD boss] Shaun Hollamby for years and he is local to us. It's the perfect fit and hopefully the relationship can grow."
Motorbase finished fifth in the 2013 teams' standings, while AmD was a race winner in the now defunct S2000 class.
