BRDC Formula 4 champion Will Palmer has received the first accolade of the 2015 Autosport Awards in London, being named British Club Driver of the Year.
The brother of 2016 Renault Formula 1 driver Jolyon and son of ex-grand prix racer Jonathan, Palmer received the award from Williams F1 pilot Felipe Massa.
Also a nominee for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, Palmer secured the F4 title with one round to spare, having claimed a record-breaking 12 race wins.
The 18-year-old also impressed in a one-off Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup appearance at Silverstone.
"I learned a huge amount last year, and this year was an amazing year," said Palmer.
"I managed to win half the races and take the championship a round early."
Dual Formula Renault 2.0 champion Jack Aitken was another nominee, along with MSA Formula champion Lando Norris, Carrera Cup GB titlist Dan Cammish, Ginetta GT4 Supercup champion Tom Oliphant and Renault Clio Cup champion Ashley Sutton.
