Samuele Buttarelli takes easy win in second Auto GP race at Donington Park
Samuele Buttarelli cruised to a straightforward win in the second Auto GP race at Donington Park on Sunday
The TP Formula driver started from pole position, and after seeing off an early challenge from Campos Racing's Adam Carroll, had no real opposition for the rest of the race.
His winning margin over Carroll - who secured his Auto GP podium on his maiden weekend in the series was 2.160 seconds, with Fabrizio Crestani of Team Lazarus a further 0.9s behind in third.
The race was mostly processional, with the midfield delivering most of the action.
Race one winner Jon Lancaster triumphed in a short scrap with his Super Nova team-mate Luca Filippi for fourth, while a fastest lap from sixth-placed Kevin Ceccon on the final lap was scant consolation for a race spent mostly bottled up in traffic.
Also mixed up in the action was DAMS driver Rio Haryanto, whose clash with MP Motorsport's Daniel de Jong earned a 25s post-race penalty.
