Iaconelli resists Grosjean in Auto GP
Carlos Iaconelli resisted huge pressure from guest star Romain Grosjean to secure his second Auto GP win of the season at Spa
The Durango driver had started from pole on the partially reversed grid thanks to his eighth place in race one - while morning winner Grosjean, who had starred for DAMS on his series debut and single-seater return - dropped to row four.
Grosjean made up four places off the line and then passed Jan Charouz and Edoardo Piscopo later in the race before hunting down Iaconelli.
But the Brazilian was able to hang on through two safety car periods and Grosjean's assaults, and duly secured his second win in as many meetings.
Charouz passed Piscopo to secure the final podium spot, while Luca Filippi won a spectacular battle with Super Nova duo Giorgio Pantano and Jonny Reid to finish fifth. Filippi managed to overtake Reid on the entry to Eau Rouge then passed Pantano at the final corner of the race.
