Antonio Pizzonia will make his Auto GP debut in the Brazilian round of the series, organisers have announced.
The local driver will race for Italian squad Ombra Racing in the Curitiba event, which takes place this weekend.
Pizzonia, the 31-year-old former Williams and Jaguar Formula 1 driver, currently competes in the Brazilian stock car championship.
"I'm very happy to join Auto GP as it's a very interesting category, and I'm especially happy to race in Brazil," said Pizzonia.
"I hope to get acquainted with the car quickly and get a great result in my country: I know the track very well so the real challenge for me will be getting to know the car and learn how to work well with the team as quickly as possible."
Pizzonia took part in 20 grands prix between 2003 and '05, with a best result of four seventh places.
