Pal Varhaug drops from third to seventh with post-race Auto GP penalty at Marrakech
Virtuosi UK racer Pal Varhaug has received a 25-second post-race penalty for a final lap incident in the second Auto GP event of the weekend at Marrakech
Varhaug finished third on the road, but drops to seventh place after the imposition of the penalty. The Norwegian cut a chicane on the last lap when under pressure from Super Nova's championship leader Adrian Quaife-Hobbs.
The penalty was awarded to Varhaug by race officials for not relinquishing the position after failing to negotiate the chicane. Zele Racing's Giacomo Ricci is promoted to third place as a result.
