Kevin Ceccon fastest in first Oschersleben Auto GP practice session

Kevin Ceccon set the pace in the opening free practice session for this weekend's Auto GP round at Oschersleben

The Ombra driver, who lies second in the championship, lapped the German circuit in 1m18.045s, just under a tenth of a second ahead of Adrien Tambay, who has returned to the series with Campos Racing in place of Adam Carroll.

Fabio Onidi was a sensational third quickest for Lazarus, less than two weeks after fracturing his right hand in a collision at Donington Park, while the top six was completed by his team-mate Fabrizio Crestani, DAMS driver Sergei Afanasiev and TP Formula's Samuele Buttarelli.

Series debutant Kevin Korjus was seventh quickest for DAMS while Giovanni Venturini (Durango), Bruno Mendez (Campos) and Daniel de Jong (MP) completed the top 10.

A notable absentee this weekend is the Super Nova team. Not only is its series leader Luca Filippi on GP2 duty in Hungary, but Donington Park winner Jon Lancaster is also out after injuring his ankle while training for a triathlon.
