Grosjean joins Auto GP field
Former grand prix driver Romain Grosjean is to join the Auto GP field, after agreeing a deal to race with DAMS at the Spa-Francorchamps event this weekend
The Frenchman has been competing in sportscars this season, leading the FIA GT1 world championship in a Matech Ford GT, after being dropped by the Renault F1 team at the end of last year.
Speaking about his return to single-seaters, Grosjean said: "I am really excited about this new challenge and I would like first of all to thank the DAMS team for this opportunity.
"I am really looking forward to be back in a single-seater car. It is a great experience I will live with the DAMS team and I am sure that it will be very productive for both of us. Spa-Francorchamps is a beautiful circuit and it is always something special racing there with a powerful and competitive car."
Grosjean will be the second ex-F1 driver to have raced in Auto GP, with Giorgio Pantano also having taken part in the series.
