Gravity enters Auto GP with Charouz
Renault Formula 1 team co-owner Gerard Lopez's Gravity Sport Management organisation is to enter the new Auto GP series in partnership with Czech team Charouz Racing System
Charouz-Gravity Racing will run four cars in the series, with Jan Charouz and Walter Grubmuller - who have already signed to race in Formula Renault 3.5 with the P1 team - taking two of the seats. Drivers from Gravity's management stable will fill the rest of the line-up, with the four cars running in Renault F1 livery.
The team will be run by Antonin Charouz, whose squad is best known for fielding the Czech team in A1GP and racing the Lola-Aston Martin LMP1 car in the Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours.
"We are looking forward to participating in such a good championship like Auto GP," said Charouz.
"It will be especially good for our young drivers. They can get necessary experience that will help them to progress. I hope it will be an interesting and successful season for our drivers and also for our team. It is a honour for us to race in such good and strong competition."
GP2 teams DAMS, Super Nova and Trident are among the other outfits to have committed to the inaugural season of Auto GP, which commences at Portimao on 16 April.
