Ghinzani to expand to two cars for Silverstone Auto GP round
Auto GP squad Ghinzani Motorsport will expand to two cars and run GP2 regular Kevin Giovesi at Silverstone this weekend
Piercarlo Ghinzani's outfit moved into the series at the start of the year following the demise of Italian Formula 3, running a single-car entry for 16-year-old Robert Visoiu.
Visoiu will retain his seat alongside Giovesi, who raced for the team in F3 and also joined Auto GP's winter test at Barcelona.
Piercarlo Ghinzani said the team was ready to expand to two cars after a 'soft start' to its new programme.
"Our team will be on-track with two Auto GP cars for the first time," he said.
"We went for a soft start in this series, but we managed to achieve a podium finish straight out of the box with Visoiu at Monza.
"Now we're set to become a two-car operation, a new experience for us with high-power cars."
