Dixon takes Lights pole
Series leader Scott Dixon claimed pole for the second Indy Lights race of the season at the Milwaukee Mile
The PacWest driver set the pace in pre-race testing at the venue and continued that form in qualifying.
He believes that starting positions will prove crucial in tonight's race.
"It is important to start from the front here," Dixon said. "It is certainly going to be hard to pass once the race gets going. You can't get close to the car in front because of the high downforce, any passing is going to require a pretty brave move.
"Lapped traffic is certainly going to play a role in the outcome because if you lose any momentum at all it takes a long time to get back up to race speed."
Dixon's team-mate Tony Renna is fourth, sandwiching Dorricott Racing duo Jason Bright and Casey Mears.
Jonny Kane, polesitter for round one at Long Beach in April, will start ninth for Team KOOL Green.
