Michael Schumacher will attend the first DTM race of the season at Hockenheim as part of his new role as mentor of the Mercedes Junior Team.
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion was recently confirmed as a part of the scheme, where he will help look after the interests of DTM racers Christian Vietoris, Robert Wickens and Roberto Merhi.
Schumacher said that he was also looking forward to seeing his brother Ralf in action as he enters his fifth season in the series, which kicks off on April 29.
"It's been a long time since I last went to the DTM," said Schumacher. "I'm looking forward to an exciting race, and also the first race for the newly formed Mercedes Junior Team.
"Just like I did at the start of my career, these young drivers have the benefit of being supported by Mercedes-Benz as they make the step to top-flight motor racing.
"And of course, I'll be supporting my brother Ralf. He got his first DTM podium finish a year ago at Hockenheim and, who knows, maybe we'll have a reason to celebrate this time round as well."
