Hollywood star Dempsey targets Le Mans LMP2 2013 entry

DPatrick Dempsey, ALMS, 2012empsey Racing has confirmed it will compete in the American Le Mans Series with a Lola B12/80 LMP2 car.

The team, owned by the star of TV show Grey's Anatomy Patrick Dempsey, is preparing for a "possible" debut at Laguna Seca in May before competing in more races during the 2012 season.

The Lola B12/80 LMP2 coupe will be powered by a Judd engine.

Dempsey Racing, established in 2003, is aiming to take part in the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours.

"It is no secret that I really enjoyed my experience at Le Mans in 2009," said Dempsey. "Lola is a famous name throughout the world of racing. I kind of knew what they did at Indy and in sports cars from when I was a kid. I am relishing driving this brand new LMP2 design."
