MG's new British Touring Car challenger hit the track at the championship's media day at Silverstone today.
The Triple Eight-developed MG6 will be driven by double BTCC champion Jason Plato and Andy Neate this season.
Although the project started relatively late, MG's first NGTC machine did appear on track.
MG and fellow works squad Honda Racing are among a 24-car entry expected for the series opener at Brands Hatch at the end of the month.
BTCC boss Alan Gow said: "We've got more cars this year than we had for Brands in 2011. To maintain and even increase the field in the current economic circumstances is fantastic. I'm very proud of it.
"I have little doubt that, just as with seasons past, the number of cars will increase as new teams and drivers take on the BTCC."
