Warren Hughes and Jody Firth to drive Murphy ORECA in ELMS

Warren Hughes Jody Firth 2011 ASI

Warren Hughes will return to the European Le Mans Series with the new Murphy Prototypes squad this year.

The 43-year-old Briton, will drive the team's Nissan-engined ORECA in the top category - LMP2 - with his long-time co-driver Jody Firth. The pair won last year's SPEED Euroseries in a WFR-run Wolf.

They will be joined by a third driver if the Murphy - which has brought on board RLR MSport to run the car - gains an entry for the Le Mans 24 Hours. Currently the car is third reserve on the LMP2 entry list.

Both Hughes - a racewinner in both the GT1 World Championship and the British Touring Car Championship and Firth will have their first taste of the ORECA at the official ELMS test at Paul Ricard on March 9.
