Franck Mailleux stays with Signatech-Nissan squad for World Endurance Championship

Franck Mailleux Signatech ILMC Spa 2011

Franck Mailleux will remain with the Signatech squad for this year's World Endurance Championship.

The 26-year-old Frenchman helped the outfit to win the LMP2 teams' title in last year's Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, and will now form part of a revised three-driver line-up in the team's lone ORECA 03-Nissan.

"I am delighted to be able to continue my endurance career with Signatech-Nissan," Mailleux said. "We have shared a lot of important memories together, but none greater than our championship success last season in ILMC. This will give us a very solid foundation from which we can mount our challenge for the 2012 WEC title.

"We want to be in a position to fight for victory at each round of the series from [the season-opening round at] Sebring onwards but most importantly to aim for glory at Le Mans, which still remains the pinnacle of the endurance racing calendar."

Having shared the car with Lucas Ordonez and Soheil Ayari in 2011, Mailleux will have two new co-drivers this year; Olivier Lombard, who took an LMP2 class win with the rival Greaves squad at last year's Le Mans 24 Hours, and Jordan Tresson, who moves up from the Blancpain Endurance Series.

"I am looking forward to working with the team and my new team-mates Jordan and Olivier to get the best out of ourselves and the Signatech-Nissan Oreca 03 which I know so well from last year," he added.
