New team MLR71 to entere AutoGP in 2012

Michele La Rosa

New outfit MLR71 will enter Auto GP next year with a three-car team.

The squad, formed by Italian businessman Michele la Rosa (pictured) recently, has recruited experienced single-seater and sportscar man Franco Sighinolfi to head up its technical team and will make its testing debut at Magione this week.

"Presenting the team already at the Magione collective test was a real challenge but it was really important for us, also to start preparing ourselves for next season in the best possible way," said la Rosa.

"This first test, together with other testing days that we are planning, will be useful to gather as much experience as possible and start the 2012 season on a par with the other outfits. We know it won't be easy because the level is very high, but we will work as hard as we can."

GP2 race-winner Giacomo Ricci will drive one of the team's cars at Magione, along with la Rosa. A second car will be driven by Italian F3 champion Sergio Campana and Ferrari Academy driver Raffaele Marciello.
