Frentzen happy in spite of conditions

Very few people were happy at the end of a sodden day of practice for the British Grand Prix, but Jordan's Heinz-Harald Frentzen was quite content after setting the pace

Frentzen set the fastest time during the brief period of dry running that the teams managed before a downpour left the track waterlogged.

'We had a very good day, we were on form and did a very good job,' he said.

'It is hard to know if we can maintain this throughout the weekend but it is certainly a good way to kick off.

'In fact today was a perfect session, not only because we were fastest but because the very changeable weather meant we were able to run in lots of different conditions.'

Frentzen has shone in difficult conditions several times in the place, notably at Magny-Cours and Nurburgring last season. He won the French Grand Prix and stole pole position at the Nurburgring before leading the race until suffering electrical problems. Both races took place in varied and changeable conditions.
