Lloyd rejoins Coyne for oval races

Alex LloydAlex Lloyd will return to Dale Coyne Racing for the oval rounds of this year's IndyCar Series.

The 26-year-old Briton drove for the squad last year, finishing a shock fourth at Indianapolis and taking the series' rookie title.

Four-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais is racing Coyne's #19 on all road and street courses this year, but Lloyd will step in for the oval rounds.

"I'm pumped to be back with the Dale Coyne Racing team, and running not only at Indy, but at the remaining oval track events in 2011," said Lloyd. "I think the #19 Boy Scouts of America team has a legitimate chance to win. I'm very excited to have this chance."

Team owner Dale Coyne believes former Indy Lights champion Lloyd's presence on the ovals will be a big boost for his rookie team-mate James Jakes.

"Alex is a great driver and I think will be extremely valuable in helping his team-mate's development on oval tracks," Coyne said.
