Adrian Newey is making the difference when it comes to keeping Red Bull Racing ahead of its rivals, according to Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali.
The Newey-designed RB7 car has proved the car to beat so far this year, as Red Bull carried its momentum following a championship-winning season in 2010.
Domenicali believes rival teams have to raise their game to match Newey's creations.
"It's true, Red Bull has built a better car," he told Auto Bild Motorsport in an interview due to be published.
"Why? Because Adrian Newey is simply more creative. We need to improve on this.
"For me it's a fact that Newey makes the difference between Red Bull and the other teams. He and his technicians do a better job."
The Italian also said Formula 1 should aim to reduce its dependency on aerodynamics, which he estimates to be 90 per cent of the car's speed.
"We need to begin talking between teams and with the FIA. Aerodynamics accounts for 90 per cent of a car's performance, and in my opinion that's not sustainable."
