Sebastien Bourdais' return to American racing with Dale Coyne Racing looks increasingly likely to go ahead as the four-time Champ Car champion continues to test for the IndyCar squad.
After an initial try-out at Sebring last month, Bourdais returned to the Florida track for the private IndyCar test this week.
He has now been entered for the official pre-season group test at Barber Motorsports Park next week in one of two Dale Coyne entries.
After his first test with the team last month, Bourdais said: "I really believe in what Dale is doing with his team and it can be a great workable opportunity for both of us this year."
The Frenchman has been linked to a road course-only programme with the team that would fit around his Peugeot LMP1 commitments.
He has not competed regularly in America since winning his fourth Champ Car title in 2007, after which he had an ill-fated Formula 1 stint with Toro Rosso. Bourdais has subsequently raced in Superleague Formula as well as his duties with Peugeot.
