A1GP concept set for revival

A new series that would revive the concept of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport is set to start this autumn, this week's AUTOSPORT magazine reveals.
A group of investors put together by a leading motorsport figure is understood to be weeks away from announcing the new venture under the A10 World Series banner.
AUTOSPORT understands that an early-February launch date has been pencilled in for the one-make single-seater series, which would then kick off in October.
The A10 World Series would, like A1GP, pitch national teams against each other. It will also run through the winter with a calendar comprising a majority of non-European races, with a focus on emerging motorsport markets.
An AUTOSPORT source close to the new group said: "This is similar in many ways to A1GP, but it is not a re-engagement of the old series.
"The ethos is completely different in terms of the business model."
