Juncadella cleared to race after crash

Daniel JuncadellaFormula 3 Euro Series race winner Daniel Juncadella has been cleared to continue in the Macau Grand Prix, despite bruising his back in his qualifying accident on Thursday.

The Spaniard crashed his Prema Powerteam car at Fisherman's Bend in first qualifying and was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

Those tests discovered that he has lower back muscle contusion, but medical chiefs have said he will be fine to participate in the race.

Juncadella's accident left him down in 28th overall in the standings after first qualifying, with the final session due to take place on Friday afternoon.
