Ogier crashes out of Rally GB

Sebastien Ogier, Citroen, GB 2010Sebastien Ogier's chances of holding on to second place in the World Rally Championship have taken a major blow after the Citroen driver crashed out of the Rally of Great Britain on the first stage of leg two.

The Frenchman had started the morning third, just 3.6 seconds from the lead, but went off the road near the end of the Radnor stage. Although the Citroen has gone a long way off the road, Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia have reported back to the team that they are unhurt.

Ogier is currently 11 points ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala and 16 in front of Petter Solberg in the standings.

Solberg has just taken the lead of the rally from Sebastien Loeb, while Latvala is fifth after he damaged a tyre on yesterday's last stage - meaning that at present Citroen privateer Solberg is on course to snatch the runner-up spot in the standings.
