ITV extends television deal

ITV will continue to broadcast the British Touring Car Championship for at least another three years.

Live coverage will, as in 2010, be broadcast on digital channel ITV4 (and simultaneously on ITV4 HD) on each race day with highlights programmes following on ITV1 and ITV4.

BTCC series director Alan Gow said: "ITV's coverage and enthusiasm for the BTCC has grown year on year and is clearly demonstrated by the fact that we are jointly able to announce this terrific news six months before the 2011 season even starts."

ITV's announcement means its association with the BTCC will run to a 12^th consecutive year, its current run having begun in 2002.
