The two highest-placed drivers in this and next year's British Formula 3 championship will win prize tests in Formula Renault 3.5.
Recently crowned 2010 champion Jean-Eric Vergne, who took a victory in Formula Renault 3.5 at Silverstone last weekend, and whoever finishes runner-up to him following this weekend's British F3 finale at Brands Hatch, will test at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain next month.
Thanks to negotiations between British F3 promoter SRO and World Series by Renault chiefs, the top two drivers in the 2011 British F3 championship will also be awarded prize tests.
In a reciprocal arrangement with Renaultsport, this season's top two drivers in the Formula Renault UK championship will win prize tests with a top British F3 team.
"We are delighted to announce this extra prize for our champion and runner-up," said SRO general manager Lisa Crampton. "Formula Renault 3.5 is very much the next step up for drivers graduating from British F3 - as witnessed by the great progress made in the series by our 2009 champion Daniel Ricciardo and by Jean-Eric Vergne, who won a round of the series at Silverstone earlier this month.
"We welcome also the opportunity to see the cream of the Formula Renault UK field drive a British F3 car, as so many drivers have followed this route into our championship, like James Calado and Oli Webb, the two drivers battling it out today at Brands Hatch to be second overall to Jean-Eric."
