The Monaco Grand Prix has secured a new 10-year deal to remain on the Formula 1 calendar and will return to its late-May slot on the 2011 schedule.
A recent aside from Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone suggesting the sport could do 'without' the Monte Carlo street race, which dates back to 1929, had led to widespread media coverage questioning the Monaco GP's future, despite Ecclestone underlining that he had no intention of removing the race from the schedule.
Ecclestone and Automobile Club de Monaco president Michel Boeri met in London today and completed the new deal, which runs through to 2020.
Next year's race has also been scheduled for 29 May.
