Indy practice called off due to rain

Persistent rain at Indianapolis has led to the cancellation of the first full day of practice for this year's Indianapolis 500.
Today should have seen the first six-hour practice session ahead of this weekend's qualifying days.
But with the weather failing to improve after early rain, all track activity for the day was abandoned just after 2.30pm local time.
Penske's Helio Castroneves had been quickest in the two short full-field practice sessions held around the rookie orientation programme and refresher runs on Saturday and Sunday.
Practice is scheduled to take place every day through Friday before the 33-car field is set during the newly truncated single weekend qualifying event at the end of the week.
