Stoneman tops second practice

The Briton went quickest in the final 10 minutes of the session on the Marrakech street circuit, and then bettered his own time by seven tenths of a second.

Nicola de Marco and Mihai Marinescu made their biggest improvements in the last five minutes to go second and third, ahead of Philipp Eng and Sergei Afanasiev.

Four Britons filled the next four places, with Will Bratt, Jack Clarke, Paul Rees and Jolyon Palmer ahead of Ivan Samarin, who rounded the top 10.

Jonathan Kennard was 11th quickest, undertaking development work in the F2 test car.

The session was broken up by a red flag stoppage half way through when Kazim Vasiliauskas crashed spectacularly on the way out of a chicane. Benjamin Lariche spun in avoidance of Vasiliauskas and returned to the pits. He did not emerge for the remainder of the session.
