South Korea has moved another step forward in preparations for its inaugural grand prix by launching ticket sales for the event.
Although there continue to be doubts about the new track being ready in time for the October 24 race, local officials are adamant that all is on course for the race.
Construction manager Kang Man-ho was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying: "We've done about 70 per cent of work on the track, which is certain to satisfy both spectators and players."
The provincial governor of the South Jeolla region where the Yeongam track is being built said: "Today's ceremony heralds the virtual start of our F1 race."
Race organisers are hoping to attract 140,000 spectators to the first race.
