Kanaan prepares for Homestead

Tony Kanaan opted to test on Homestead's road circuit as he continued preparations for the 2000 CART season

The Brazilian driver, who will drive for Morris Nunn's fledging team this season, tested his racecar on the road circuit, rather than the 1.5-mile oval they will use for the season opener on March 26.

He said: "We test on the road course here because this is a very nice road course and it is very tricky.

"It has both slow and high speed corners, so they did a very good job from that standpoint. It is one of the greatest road courses."

Speaking about the test session, which is due to end on Thursday, Kanaan added: "We're trying a lot of different things.

"This is only our second test on a road course, and I am pretty pleased. I am learning a lot from Morris (Nunn), who is the greatest with a lot of experience from the past.

"Hopefully, we will come out of here with a lot of miles on the car and a lot of data to prepare for the next road course race."
