Turvey leads iSport 1-2 in practice

Oliver Turvey and Davide Valsecchi gave GP2 Asia champion squad iSport a one-two in the opening free practice session for the season finale in Bahrain this morning

Running on the revised circuit configuration for the first time, the duo were half a tenth apart at the top of the times, with Turvey just edging out his champion team-mate in the closing stages of the half hour session.

Luiz Razia made an impressive return to GP2 by fighting for the top spot for Rapax. He eventually ended up third, only 0.01 seconds down on Valsecchi's time.

Meritus driver Alexander Rossi was also within a tenth of first place as he took fourth. The American has to take a ten place grid penalty after qualifying today as a punishment for his incidents with Fabio Leimer at the previous meeting. Rossi's team-mate Luca Filippi completed the top five.

Among the other returnees for this weekend, Dani Clos was back in 19th after reclaiming his Trident seat from Adrian Zaugg, while Rodolfo Gonzalez - who is at Addax in place of Sergio Perez in Bahrain - was 22nd.
