Daytona 500 set for Dale battle
This weekend's Daytona 500 is set for a battle royale between Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd and Dale Earnhardt
Jarrett, the Winston Cup champion, picked up from where he left off last season by taking pole for Sunday's race.
He will be joined on the front row by Robert Yates Racing team-mate Ricky Rudd.
Jarrett is hoping to continue his race-winning form from last weekend's Bud Shootout, when he became the first man to win from the back of the grid.
"I'm confident with what we've got," said Jarrett.
"We're going to be there at the end battling for the championship."
Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt is determined to make Jarrett fight for success in Sunday's showdown.
Jarrett has twice beaten him in the "Great American Race", but Earnhardt has refused to concede defeat.
"Jarrett has locks on the show right now," said Earnhardt.
"We'll see if we can stink that up on Sunday. If you can stay out of trouble, you can have a pretty good day here.
"It's interesting to see how it all unfolds as it goes.
"We're still working on it. That's the way Richard Childress and these guys are. We just keep trying to get all you can get."
