SEAT ready for Safari challenge

SEAT is preparing two Cordoba WRC E2s for the most demanding round of the FIA World Rally Championship - the Safari Rally

Didier Auriol - who finished second last year - will line-up alongside Safari debutant Toni Gardemeiser.

Frenchman Auriol, who has contested the event three times, is hopeful of repeating last year's success and finishing on the podium.

"I'm really looking forward to the Safari Rally," he said.

"The Cordoba is a very strong rally car, so I hope conditions on the Safari Rally this year are very rough.

"If we drive nicely and take care of the car, then maybe at the finish we can get a good result."

Gardemeister is also hopeful of a top-three finish, despite never having contest the event before.

"My instinct is to drive flat-out, but on the Safari you have to be clever and slow right down and be careful in places," he said.

"It would be a dream to win the Safari Rally at my first attempt, like Juha did, but I honestly believe we can finish in the top three without taking any risks."
