Stage 4: Makinen fastest
Reigning champion Tommi Makinen was fastest on stage four of the Swedish Rally, but Peugeot's Marcus Gronholm is pulling away in the lead
Gronholm was second fastest on the Torsby stage, and a poor time for his closest rival Thomas Radstrom allowed the Finn to extend his advantage to 8.3s.
Makinen's fast time has allowed him to move ahead of Colin McRae and take third.
Hyundai's fortunes are improving. Kenneth Eriksson may have lost a lot of time with a broken turbo pipe earlier in the morning, but he set the seventh fastest time on Torsby in the brand new Accent WRC.
