Della Penna squad tests at Sebring
Della Penna Motorsports continued its preparations for the 2000 CART season at Sebring
Richie Hearn got behind the wheel of the team's Toyota/Reynard, before Formula Nippon Champion Tom Coronel took over.
Hearn completed 30 laps on Saturday, with a fastest time of 51.5s.
Della Penna said: "I think there was a lot of room for improvement; I'm sure he could have got down to the low 51's, which was as fast as anyone else went."
Speaking about Coronel's test on Sunday, Della Penna added: "It was his first time in a Champ Car, and it's completely different to anything he's driven before.
"But he was quite impressive. He's fast.
"At this point it was just an evaluation.
"Maybe we can run a second car [alongside Hearn] later in the year, so we thought, let's put him in the car, see what he can do, put the word around in Europe, and maybe we can get some sponsors interested.
"I think he's definitely got a lot of potential and he seems a really good guy."
