Liuzzi tests at Cotswold Airport

Tonio Liuzzi and the Force India crewForce India is bullish about its prospects for another strong showing at the Italian Grand Prix on the back of a successful straightline aero test at Cotswold Airport last week.

The team had already scheduled the run before its stunning performance in Belgium, and the test also gave new driver Vitantonio Liuzzi a chance to get acclimatised to the VJM02 in its Monza-specification before this weekend's action kicks off.

Force India's team car build supervisor Mark Gray said the results of the aero test had been positive, and left the team optimistic about Monza.

"It's always nice to be able to test on a long runway and they've got one here. It's also fairly close by, which helps," he said.

"The tests we carried out at the airport before Spa were a big factor in the result. We came here earlier than we normally would and had a new aero package, which we were able to evaluate."

Brawn GP has also used the 2000 metre Cotswold Airport runway for aero tests this year, with the venue being one of just five FIA-approved testing facilities in Britain.
