Espargaro happy with MotoGP debut

Aleix Espargaro says he was pleased with his first session in MotoGP's premier class after finishing today's practice session at Indianapolis in 15th place

The Spaniard has stepped in to race for the Pramac Ducati team while Mika Kallio is covering for Casey Stoner on the factory bike. Despite the wet conditions at Indy today, he says he was at ease on the bike by the end of the session.

"Last night I think I woke up about one hundred times, I was so excited," said Espargaro. "Now I am a bit more relaxed, it has been a fantastic experience. It would have probably be better ride for my first time on the Ducati Desmosedici GP9 with dry track, but at the end things went well.

"I found my self at ease since the first laps. It has impressive acceleration but tomorrow, when the track should be dry, I will have a clearer idea of what this bike can do. I am very happy to have this opportunity and I will do all I can to obtain the best result possible."

Espargaro finished fourth and seventh on his only two 250cc outings so far this season, at Assen and the Sachsenring.
