Force India driver Adrian Sutil will start the British Grand Prix in a replacement chassis following his major accident in qualifying yesterday.
The German went off at Becketts in the dying seconds of Q1 after suffering a braking problem, backing his car into the wall and suffering substantial damage. Sutil was uninjured and was released from the medical centre after a precautionary check-up.
The team was given permission by the FIA to replace the chassis, Mercedes engine and gearbox of his Force India after submitting a written request.
He is now using chassis VJM02/01, rather than chassis 03, which he had been using as his race car.
Because of the change, Sutil must start the British Grand Prix from the pitlane as stipulated by the regulations.
