Robertshaw won't run Lacettis in '09

Robertshaw Racing will not run any Chevrolet Lacettis in next year's British Touring Car Championship after splitting with driver Harry Vaulkhard.

Both Lacettis are owned by Vaulkhard's father Nigel, who has decided against keeping the cars with the squad next season.

"We won't be running the Lacettis next season," teammanager Joe Bradley told "At the end of the day we just couldn't have another season scrimping for every penny like we did this year.

"We've come to an amicable arrangement with the Vaulkhards to go our separate ways."

Vaulkhard, who finished 19th in the championship and ninth in the Independents standings with Robertshaw in his rookie BTCC campaign, is understood to be talking to a number of teams about running the Lacettis next season.

The decision means that Robertshaw is likely to only race in the Renault Clio Cup next year, but Bradley did not rule out the squad continuing to run Alan Taylor's Honda Integra-R next season.

"I don't think Alan will be back. I think the BTCC was something he desperately wanted to do, but now it's done I think that will be it," Bradley added.

"Having said that though, it wouldn't surprise me if he called us in February and said: 'Right guys, I'm bored with the off-season, let's go racing'."
