Michelin Predict F1 Entry for Other Manufacturers

Ganassi Racing driver Juan Montoya has emerged victorious in his fight for his first CART series title.

The Columbian rookie finished in fourth position, ahead of championship rival Dario Franchitti who finished 10th.

The title chasers finished the season on identical points - 212 - however, Montoya takes the crown with more race wins.

Montoya ran with the leaders throughout the race, even leading the race for some laps.

However, Franchitti's race was marred by a bad pitstop early on. The right rear wheel on his car caused problems, relegating the Scot to two laps down for most of the race.

Adrian Fernandez took the race win, with Max Papis and Christian Fittipaldi following him home ahead of the new champion.

Montoya's celebrations were overshadowed by the tragic death of Forsythe Racing's Greg Moore. He crashed early on in the race.
