Dani Pedrosa was taken to a hospital in Barcelona after crashing heavily during a post-race testing session at the Spanish circuit.
The Repsol Honda rider, winner of the Catalan Grand Prix on Sunday, suffered a high side tumble, landing heavily on his back.
The Spaniard was taken to Barcelona's Dexeus hospital, where x-rays confirmed that he has no broken bones.
Pedrosa, however, has bruised his back and will need 48 hours of rest and therefore he will not be testing at Barcelona tomorrow.
"The crash happened while I was changing direction in the first chicane," explained Pedrosa.
"It was a high side and I fell quite heavily. My back and my shoulders hurt. I crashed at the start of my second lap of that run, maybe because the tyres weren't fully up to temperature."
