The NASCAR Nationwide Series is set to confirm a deal to use the Car of Tomorrow from next season.
NASCAR bosses are still to confirm when the car will be integrated into the second-tier, but series boss Joe Balash thinks it will be introduced at some point next season.
"One of the options that's carrying some momentum is releasing the car after August next year on the mile-and-a-half tracks," he said.
NASCAR is currently developing a Nationwide-spec version of the Car of Tomorrow, but it still in the wind tunnel stage of development and has not yet run on a circuit.
