Schnitzer Motorsport's Augusto Farfus has been excluded from race one of this weekend's opening World Touring Car Championship round at Curitiba after his car was found to breach the technical regulations.
It was discovered that the 'V' support for the fixation of the engine protection did not comply with the technical regulations, and for the breach Farfus was excluded from race one, losing his third place finish.
However, the stewards felt that it was just a mistake, and that there was no fraudulent intent in the non-compliance, and so no further penalty was issued.
Farfus's exclusion moves Gabriel Tarquini into equal leadership of the WTCC standing alongside teammate Yvan Muller.
