Jarvis expects tougher main race
Qualification race winner Oliver Jarvis believes that he will be pushed harder by Marko Asmer in the main race of the Macau Grand Prix on Sunday
The Japanese F3 front runner had a relatively easy run to the chequered flag once he got ahead of Asmer in Saturday's race, but Jarvis is expecting the British F3 champion to provide more of a challenge in the crucial main event.
"Today Marko and I were very respectful of each other, we know each other well and we are good friends," said Jarvis.
"But tomorrow it is going to be a real battle, it is all or nothing and I am sure he will not be so easy to pass.
"You can take a lot more risks tomorrow because it is all about the win, it will be a difference race."
Asmer made reference to the strength of the TOM's Toyota engine that Jarvis has this weekend, although the race winner believes that his success is down to the whole package.
"Everyone is talking about the engine with two Toyotas in the top three, but for me the big thing was the mountain," said Jarvis.
"We took a lot of downforce off of the car overnight because you need straighline speed for the race, but the great thing is that the car is still competitive through the mountain section.
"I've got into a good rhythm now," he added. "I am confident I can push and keep within the limits at present, and hopefully things will go the same way tomorrow."
